All regular Festival screenings are $7 for adults and $5 for students (students must purchase tickets in person and present a valid student ID to receive discounted price), except for the Opening Gala, which is $20. We also have special matinee pricing of $5 for all films screened Thursday – Saturday before 5:00pm.
What if I want to see a large number of films? Are there any discounts?
The Ticket Sampler is available for purchase at the FARR BEST box office, or online, and costs $70 ($100 value). The sampler card allows patrons to choose what films and events they want to attend. You can either use them to see one $7 film screening, go to the MIFF Red Carpet Gala for $20, go to a $5 matinee or just bring a bunch of your friends with you and use the whole card. The card will be punched by a MIFF volunteer or box office staff member for whatever amount you choose to spend.
When and where should I buy tickets?
Box office information
The box office for pre-festival sales–between March 4th and the opening of the festival on March 6–will be at the FARR BEST, located at 109 N Main St. (hours listed below). From March 4th– March 10th (during the festival), tickets for all films and events may be purchased at the main Festival box offices as on line. We recommend you buy tickets in advance as many screenings will sell out. However, you may still purchase day-of tickets, if there are any available. If there is more than one hour before the start time of a screening you can purchase your tickets at either of the main festival headquarters table, on line or Box Office (Farr Best Theater) but if there is less than one hour before the start time of the screening you must purchase tickets directly at the venue where the screening is taking place.

Online ticket sales
To purchase tickets online, simply navigate to the page for the individual film you wish to attend and click on the “buy tickets” link next to a selected screening. All Screenings will be posted on the website one month prior to the event. *Please note that all internet sales may include an additional per ticket service charge of $1.50 which is charged by the ticketing company, not MIFF. To avoid paying the extra service charges, please purchase your tickets in person or over the phone. Also, a $3 mailing fee will be charged should a patron choose to have tickets mailed.*
Can I still get into a screening if it’s sold out?
MIFF encourages its patrons to purchase tickets as early as possible, as many screenings sell out before the Festival even starts. In the event of a sold-out show, it is still sometimes possible to obtain a ticket by arriving at the screening venue an hour before the show starts and standing in the wait list line. While MIFF makes sure to extend every possible courtesy to our patrons, attending a film festival is not like attending a movie at the local multiplex. Approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the films, if any empty seats remain, the theatre staff will begin selling tickets to the people in the wait list line on a first-come, first-served basis. It is our objective to fill each and every seat during the festival so if seats are still empty 15 min prior to start, they will be sold to the wait list line. To ensure that you get a seat at a screening for which you have purchased a ticket, we suggest arriving at the venue at least 45 minutes early. In the event that you purchased a ticket and are turned away because the show is sold out, MIFF will exchange your ticket for another of equal value.

What is MIFF’s film rating system?
MIFF is committed to bringing you outstanding independent films not in wide release. Therefore, most of the films we show are not yet rated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). So in an effort to help you choose great films for yourself and your family, we have included content ratings –either our own, or the MPAA’s when available. Our rating system includes three categories:
- MT (Mature) – Significant mature content.
- TN (Teen+) – May have some mature content.
- FM (Family Friendly) – Suitable for children as young as 8-12.
What else happens at the festival besides film screenings?

Where is MIFF merchandise sold and what are my options?
MIFF merchandise will be sold within the Festival Headquarters Lobby (TBA) and the FARR BEST THEATER Lobby (Main Street). This year’s lineup of merchandise consists of a variety of MIFF branded apparel as well as a logoed pint glass. Items are priced from $3 – $25. Merchandise point of sales will accept cash and all major credit cards.

A limited number of rooms at La Quinta Inn & Suites Mansfield, Best Western Plus Mansfield, Comfort Inn Mansfield, Hampton Inn & Suites Mansfield, Fairfield Inn & Suites Mansfield, are available at a special discounted rate for MIFF attendees. One of these Hotels serves as MIFF’s 2019’s hotel headquarters for our filmmaker and film industry guests.
